Russia Day is celebrated annually since 1992 on the adoption day of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Russian Federation – on the 12th of June.
On Russia Day the President presents State Awards of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology, literature and art, as well as for outstanding achievements in the field of humanitarian actions. Across the country festive events are held, the program includes concerts, exhibitions, presentations. In Moscow, in honor of the national holiday, celebrations traditionally end with colorful fireworks. In Cyprus, Russia Day is also celebrated by compatriots. The Russian Embassy in the Republic of Cyprus holds a reception where guests of honor are invited. Various special events are also taking place in other cities of the Republic of Cyprus.
